Mu.shoe is the result of store owner Susan Wilson's longtime love affair with shoes. Wilson, whose father worked for Jarman Mens' Shoes and owned a shoe store in Los Angeles, grew up going to fashion shows with her mother and was constantly mesmerized by shoes. Growing up, she was known as "the shoe girl." And the fascination didn't end there.

"The idea for a shoe store came to me while working at a corporate job. For years I felt unfulfilled in the business world, like my creative side wasn't complete," said Wilson. "At one point I realized that throughout my career, I had gained enough business experience to make a change."

Thus, the idea known as mu.shoe began to take shape. On a trip to Europe, while roaming the tiny twisting streets of Venice with an eye peeled for stylish feet, Wilson came across a small shop that featured, in her words, "the most amazing" shoes.

Later that same trip, this time in Florence, Wilson spotted beautiful, unique handbags in a window display. The work of these designers, handpicked in Italy, can be found in the States only at mu.shoe.

In addition to offering beautiful shoes and accessories, Wilson makes customer service an equal priority.

"Too many shops today don't put enough emphasis on customer service," says Wilson. "Mu.shoe is all about full-service. In my experience, people don't pay enough attention to their shoes. They need to try them on and see how the shoes work with an outfit and how they feel and look on their feet. Mu.shoe is a place for people to go and receive honest, encouraging advice on shoes and other accessories."
